Pakistani YouTuber-turned-TikToker Rajab Butt has once again landed in controversy after making belittling remarks about his wife, Emaan Fatima, during a recent TikTok livestream. The online creator, who has already been surrounded by legal disputes and public scandals, faced intense criticism following his latest comments.
Rajab and Emaan’s relationship has been under public scrutiny since their marriage. Despite ongoing disputes and resurfacing allegations from Rajab’s past, the couple had reconciled before the birth of their son, Kivan. Rajab, however, has remained abroad for most of the time, and has still not met his son in person.
During the livestream, Rajab attempted to justify why he does not bring his wife and child to the UK. In doing so, he made remarks that many viewers described as insulting and unnecessary, claiming Emaan “didn’t even have a passport” before he arranged one for her. He went on to state that she has “no travel history” and would “never get a visa,” therefore he saw no reason to call his wife or son to live with him.
Social media users swiftly condemned Rajab’s statements. Viewers accused him of blaming Emaan for circumstances he could have helped improve.
One user pointed out, “If she lacked travel history, you could have helped her establish it. Many influencers support their spouses that way.”
Another commented, “You don’t call them because you don’t want to — not because she can’t travel.”
Some labeled his remarks as “arrogant,” “unfair,” and reflective of his “own choices, not her limitations.”
