Abhishek Sharma, famous for his explosive batting in Indian cricket, has made another big record in his name. This young cricketer has set a historical record of becoming the first Indian player to hit 100 sixes in a calendar year. He achieved this feat in the match played between the teams of Punjab and Services during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Abhishek’s aggressive batting
Maintaining his aggressive batting style, Abhishek played a brilliant inning of 62 runs in 34 balls. His innings included eight fours and three skyscraper sixes. In the same match, he crossed the mark of his 100th six, making him the first player to do so in the history of Indian cricket.

His performance in the calendar year 2025 has been extraordinary. Abhishek has so far hit 101 sixes in just 36 innings of T20 cricket, which shows his explosive batting and ability to perform consistently. He has scored 1,499 runs in this period at an average of 42.82, while his strike rate of 204.22 is proof that he is capable of dominating any bowling attack. He has also achieved three centuries and nine half-centuries this year.
In the match against Services, Abhishek performed brilliantly not only with the bat but also with the bowling. He took two important wickets, which played an important role in giving Punjab a big win by 73 runs. Considering his all-round performance, he was chosen Player of the Match. Even before this, he has played many memorable innings like a century in 32 balls against Bengal, in which he hit seven fours and 11 sixes. Apart from this, in another match he played a brilliant inning of 148 runs in 52 balls, which included 16 sixes.
25-year-old Abhishek Sharma is currently at third position among the players who have scored the most runs in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has scored 304 runs in six innings of the tournament at an average of 50.66, while his strike rate of 249.18 further strengthens his aggressive style this year. He is also in excellent form at the international level and remains the world number-1 batsman in T20I with 920 rating points.
