The department said in a tweet that if there is any discrepancy in the bill, irregularity in prices or false promises, then immediately contact the National Consumer Helpline. Consumers can lodge their complaint through both call and WhatsApp.

According to government information, the toll-free number of the National Consumer Helpline is 1915. At the same time, the number 8800001915 has been made available for filing complaints through WhatsApp. It has now become easier than ever to register problems to electricity bill through these numbers. Consumers living in any part of the country can avail this service.
Easy way to lodge complaint through WhatsApp
It is very simple to complain through WhatsApp. First of all save the number 8800001915 in your phone. After this, open WhatsApp and go to New Chat and send a message to this number. If you do not want to save the number, you can paste the number in the search bar of New Chat. After opening the chat, just type “Hi” Send it in writing. After this, click on Register Grievance from the options on the screen. Now fill your name, mobile number, state and necessary information to the complaint. Also tell what type of bill you are complaining about. After filling all the details your complaint will be registered.
