UP: On Friday, the first day of the winter session, the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly voted a resolution of condolence for the passing of Samajwadi Party sitting MLA Sudhakar Singh.

To honor him, the House remained silent for two minutes. The House’s sessions were then postponed until Monday.

On the occasion, Mata Prasad Pandey, the leader of the opposition and the leader of the Samajwadi Party in the House, praised Sudhakar Singh as a well-liked and effective public servant. He claimed to have had a close relationship with the populace and that the party had suffered an irreversible loss as a result of his passing. Mata Prasad Pandey remarked that his contribution to the party was priceless and prayed for the deceased’s rest.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, former minister and MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh, also known as Raja Bhaiya, Congress leader Aradhana Mishra “Mona,” and Umashankar Singh, the head of the Bahujan Samaj Party in the House, were among those who paid their respects.

They all sent their sympathies to Sudhakar Singh’s family and regarded his passing as a huge loss to the political and public service sectors.

Notably, 67-year-old Sudhakar Singh, the Ghosi constituency’s Samajwadi Party MLA, died a few days ago while receiving medical care at Lucknow’s Medanta Hospital.

Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana announced that the Legislative Assembly’s winter session will begin today prior to the start of the proceedings. “Unfortunately, one of our honorable members has died away. The House will be adjourned after a program honoring him. Along with other legislative activities, the House will operate with full devotion from Monday through December 24, the Speaker said.
