The main reason for Ishaan’s comeback was his amazing performance in the domestic T20 tournament. As captain, he led Jharkhand to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for the first time. He created history by scoring a century in the final – he became the first captain to score a century in the final of this tournament. He was the top scorer in the entire tournament with 517 runs in 10 innings, which included two centuries and two half-centuries.

Return to New Zealand series before T20 World Cup

Ishaan’s return to international cricket will be from the home T20 series against New Zealand. This squad is for the World Cup as well as the 5-match T20 series to be held in January. The first match of the series will start from January 21.
