One of the BBC's festive highlights was slammed by viewers who declared they were done after "15 minutes" of the Christmas comedy. Stuffed stars Taskmaster's Guz Khan as Arslan Farooqis and The Windsors star Morgana Robinson as his wife Hannah. The couple and their two children are a mixed faith family who head to Lapland for a magical Christmas break when he receives an £8.000 Christmas bonus instead of the £800 he should have. When he finds out the bonus was a mistake, and the company wants the money back he has to figure out how to make some fast cash as the family have already spent it.
While the concept may have been heartfelt viewers were not impressed and took to X to complain. "This is genuinely one of the worst shows/comedies I've ever seen it's so bad its... bad," one wrote. "#Stuffed on @BBCOne....supposed to be a comedy? It's embarrassing!" another added.
A third chimed in: "Just watched first 15 mins of Stuffed on @BBC. What a festering, unfunny pile of woke s****."
A fourth commented: "They've stolen the plot from an episode of Fame - or any film with Cliff Richard in it."
A fifth wrote: "Utter crap. But wrapped up in some cultural blend we're all meant to accept."
Meanwhile a sixth asked: "Is #Stuffed supposed to be a comedy, cos it's about as funny as the Boxing Day s****."
Speaking about commissioning the film BBC Director of Comedy Jon Petrie said: "We jumped at the chance to bring Stuffed to the BBC: from the moment Andy shared this Christmas caper, we knew it was something special.
"With Guz Khan's warm humour at its heart it's an hour-long treat bursting with warmth and laughter."
Alongside Guz and Morgana the film starred Royle Family icon Sue Johnston who played Lily - a new friend Hannah made while on holiday.
Although she is probably best known for playing Barbara Royle in the BBC comedy and Sheila Grant in the soap opera Brookside her other credits include her role as Grace Foley in the BBC drama Waking the Dead, Gloria Price in soap opera Coronation Street, and Miss Denker in ITV period drama Downton Abbey.
