Garuda Purana

Garuda Purana Shraddha Rituals: In Hindu religion, the rituals performed after death are considered very important. According to beliefs, the soul attains peace only after performing Shraddha and Tarpan, but often this question comes in people's mind that if a person dies and is not married, then who has the right to perform his Shraddha? Gurud Purana is included in the 18 Mahapuranas of Hindu religion.

This has been explained clearly and in detail in Garuda Purana. In such a situation, let us know that if an unmarried person dies untimely, then who can perform his Shraddha rituals? What are the rules given for this in Garuda Purana?

Father performs Shraddha rituals

It is said in the scriptures that the Shraddha ritual of the father is performed by the son, due to which the father gets salvation. Whereas if the son is unmarried and dies untimely, he has neither a wife nor children. In such a situation, the father has the responsibility and right to perform the Shraddha rituals of the son. The father plays the role of the main actor, so that his son's soul can attain peace and salvation.

If the father of the deceased person is not alive or is unable to perform Shraddha due to health reasons, then after the father, the responsibility of fulfilling this responsibility falls on the younger or elder brother. If the deceased has no brother, then the father's brother i.e. uncle can perform the Shraddha rituals. Apart from this, if there is no close relationship then this work can be done by any person from his family.

Special work for unmarried soul

Unmarried death is considered an incomplete life. Normal Shraddha rituals are performed for such souls. Also, according to Garuda Purana, some special rules have also been given for the peace of such souls. In case of untimely death, Narayana Bali should be worshipped. It is believed that by this the soul is freed from the ghostly form and it gets a place in the ancestral world.
