But what doesnt come to the limelight is that these recreations open faces to criticism and comparisons with the original. One such scene happened recently when Kartik Aaryan recreated Salman Khan’s classic track Saajanji Ghar Aaye from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Soon after the film hit theatres on Christmas several clips from the movie began surfacing across social media platforms. One video in particular showed Kartik dancing to Saajanji Ghar Aaye a song originally picturised on Salman Khan and Kajol. In the scene Kartik is first seen making a grand entry at a function to the track before being joined by Ananya Panday with the duo dancing together. However the reaction online was far from celebratory. Social Media Reacts to Kartik Aaryans Recreation Social media users were quick to compare Kartik’s re-creation with Salman Khan’s original performance and many were left unimpressed. One user wrote “Only salman khan” while another added “Always Salman khan.” A harsher reaction read “Worst version” with another comment stating “Unmatched and Irreplaceable.” One user remarked “Bhai is far better than kartik. No one can match that level” while another went on to say “Salman & Shahrukh should get copyrights for their hit song.” The criticism didn’t stop there. Another social media user wrote “#KartikAaryan please stop ruining our iconic songs and dance steps. You can’t even matched 1 Percent of #SalmanKhan’s Swag and Persona” while another questioned “Wtf they remade Sajan ji ghar aaye in that tu meri st????”** One frustrated comment read “Bhai har movie me remake and remix? Its annoying now” followed by another simply stating “salman always best.” A user also added a Hindi remark writing “Beta tum se na ho payega… bhai ki baat alag hai (You won’t be able to do it. There’s something special about bhai).” The controversy comes amid growing criticism of nostalgia-driven recreations in Bollywood. Comparison videos stitching together Kartik’s performance with Salman Khan’s original dance quickly went viral with many viewers feeling that Kartik fell short of recreating Salman’s charm.
