Loans are cheap, new rates on FD

With the beginning of the new year, many big banks have reduced loan interest rates. Home loan and personal loan can be cheap. At the same time, new interest rates will be applicable on fixed deposits, due to which savers may get some benefit or loss, depending on the bank.

Linking PAN-Aadhaar will be mandatory

From January 1, 2026, linking PAN and Aadhaar will become mandatory for almost all banking and government services. If this link is not made, many features related to the account may be disabled.

Credit score will change soon

Now you will not have to wait long for your credit score to be updated. Whereas earlier it was updated every 15 days, now it will be updated every week. Loan borrowers will benefit from this, because the effect of paying EMI on time will be visible quickly and banks will also be able to take more accurate decisions.

Strictness on UPI and digital payments

To prevent digital fraud, rules related to UPI, mobile numbers and bank accounts will be made more stringent. Special attention will be given to SIM verification and digital identity, so that cases of online fraud can be curbed.

Age limit on social media use

The government is preparing to tighten the rules of social media for children below 16 years of age. Features like age verification and parental control may be necessary in the new rules, so that the online safety of children can be increased.

New restrictions on petrol and diesel vehicles

To reduce pollution, new restrictions may be imposed on old or commercial petrol-diesel vehicles in some big cities. Its effect can also be seen on cab, delivery and logistics services.

New rules for farmers

To avail the benefits of PM-Kisan scheme, unique farmer ID will be necessary in some states. Under the crop insurance scheme, cover will be provided if the damage caused by wild animals is reported within the stipulated time.

Changes related to gas, fuel and tax
