GDP growth
A new report by Standard Chartered suggests that India's economy can grow strongly by 2026. According to the report, the effect of the financial and monetary steps taken by the government and the Reserve Bank is now visible on the ground. These policy supports are providing new support to domestic demand, which is expected to maintain the pace of growth.
The report said that the Reserve Bank has given a strong foundation to the economy by prematurely cutting interest rates and providing plenty of cash in the market. At the same time, the government has taken steps to provide relief in income tax and balance GST rates through the budget. These efforts are having a direct impact on the purchasing power of the common people, due to which improvement in consumption is being seen.
India's situation is better amid global challenges
While on the one hand trade tariffs and slow economic growth remain a cause for concern globally, India's position remains relatively strong. The report believes that the policy decisions taken in the past years have kept India safe from external shocks to a great extent.
control inflation
There is good news for the country on the inflation front also. Inflation rate has come down due to softening of prices of food items and crude oil. According to the report, in the coming time the consumer price index may remain less than the RBI target of 4 percent. This will reduce the pressure on the expenditure of common people.
Expected fast and balanced growth in 2026
The report estimates that India's real GDP growth in 2026 will not only be rapid but will also be spread across many sectors. This means that the benefits of development will not be limited to just a few areas but will reach more people. Consumption-based improvement can become the biggest strength of this recovery. However, the report also warns that risks may remain if global trade faces further disruptions or growth picks up late. Despite this, current indications show that India's economic story may emerge stronger in 2026.
