New Delhi: Now diagnosing TB has become easy. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has developed a hand-held X-ray machine. With this help, TB testing of patients can be done even at home.
New achievement in the fight against TB
In this regard, ICMR Director General Dr. Rajiv Bahl said that a new achievement has been achieved in the fight against TB infection. A handheld X-ray machine has been developed in India, which will be able to detect TB disease in patients early and then help in timely treatment and improving public health.
Indigenous hand-held X-ray machine
During the 19th International Conference of Drug Regulatory Authorities India 2024, ICMR Director General said that hand-held X-ray machines are very expensive. Keeping this in mind, ICMR in partnership with IIT Kanpur has developed an indigenous hand-held X-ray machine, which costs half the foreign machine. With this help, TB testing of patients can be done even at home.
