Sadie Sink, the 23-year-old actress, has opened up about her experiences working on Stranger Things and the upcoming Spider-Man film. She revealed that she learned she would join the Spider-Man franchise while still filming the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sink described the announcement as a surreal and exciting moment. “Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I love Spider-Man. I love Tom’s Spider-Man, especially,” she said. She explained that being a fan and then becoming part of a project is a familiar feeling for her. Sink said the Spider-Man project is particularly special because it allowed her to reunite with director Destin Daniel Cretton. She had previously worked with him on The Glass Castle in 2017. “I worked with Destin Daniel Cretton on one of my first films when I was 14, so it’s kind of a full-circle moment. I had an amazing time working on that film,” she said.

While she is keeping details about her role and the plot of the film under wraps, Sink said she is eager to share more with fans soon. “I can’t wait to talk about it more. There’s so much I want to share,” she said.

The actress also spoke about the challenge of keeping secrets in both franchises. She joked that handling secrecy has become second nature to her. “That’s why I feel like keeping Stranger Things secrets is kind of easy because I have so many Spider-Man secrets I’m sitting on that feel even more secretive,” Sink admitted.

Fans can catch the final episode of Stranger Things Season 5, starring Sink, on December 31, 2025. Her Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is scheduled to be released on July 31, 2026.
