New Delhi: Aman Preet Singh’s name keeps popping up in Hyderabad’s drug scandals, but is he just a user or something more sinister? Rakul Preet Singh’s brother, now named A-7 in the shocking Masab Tank drugs case, has cops hunting him across cities.

After counselling and a release last year, he’s allegedly bought drugs five times in six months—spending Rs 2 lakhs. Absconding with police teams closing in, questions swirl: Consumer or secret peddler in Tollywood’s dark underbelly?

Repeated drug links of Rakul Preet Singh

Aman Preet Singh, brother of Bollywood and Tollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh, first hit headlines in July 2024 during a Narsingi drugs bust. Hyderabad police arrested him as one of five consumers who tested positive for cocaine after a raid that seized 199 grams worth Rs 35 lakh. He was listed as A-11, questioned, counselled, and released with a notice, but now faces scrutiny again.

Masab tank case details

In the latest Masab Tank probe, police booked Aman as A-7 after grilling two arrested peddlers, Nitin Singhania and Sranik Singhvi, caught on December 19 with 43 grams of cocaine and 11.5 grams of MDMA. They named him among four regular buyers. Over six months, he spent Rs 2 lakhs on five purchases, with digital chats, call data, and bank records under scan for deeper ties.

Police probe intensifies in Aman Preet Singh’s case

West Zone DCP Ch Srinivas stated, “Aman Preet has taken drugs five times. So far, he has only been identified as a consumer, but since his name has come up for a second time, we are exploring a way to take stringent action against him.” He added, “Currently, he is absconding… All efforts are being made to apprehend them at the earliest.” Cops are checking his real estate business, finances, and Mumbai-Hyderabad links for peddler angles. Teams rushed to Mumbai hunting the fugitive.

 Businessman and actor profile

Beyond films and trials, Aman runs real estate in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Despite past counselling where he promised change, evidence shows relapse. Police suspect two years of use and vow harsher steps this time, gathering phone records and transactions to expose any network role. Full details will emerge post-arrest, say officials.
