According to a report, more than a thousand crore rupees were earned from advertisements alone in the T20 World Cup 2026, in which matches like India-Pakistan and the final played a big role.
Along with the victory of Team India, this World Cup also proved to be a tremendous victory for the companies and organizers because they got a chance to earn bumper money. A report by Exchange for Media has claimed that more than Rs 1500 crore was earned in the World Cup through advertisements alone, which is an initial estimate and it may increase further till the final report comes.
India-Pakistan match is the biggest attraction
The major sources of income were matches like India-Pakistan match, semi-finals and finals, in which the advertising rates were very high. The report quoted industry sources as saying that while the rate of a 10-second ad for normal matches was around Rs 7.5 lakh, as the tournament progressed this price reached Rs 15-16 lakh. The India-Pakistan match played amidst the boycott controversies dominated everything, in which the ad slot of 10 seconds reached Rs 20-25 lakh.
Apart from this, the price of ad slots for matches like semi-finals and finals was kept between Rs 15 to 20 lakhs. This report also reveals that the three major sponsor companies of ICC like Aramco, DP World and Emirates spent Rs 75-75 crore in advertisements, while other companies spent Rs 15-20 crore.
Team India's record win
Talking about the match, the T20 World Cup ended with the final between India and New Zealand on Sunday, March 8. Team India got its name written on the trophy by winning the match by a huge margin of 96 runs. Once again Sanju Samson played a explosive inning of 89 runs for Team India, on the basis of which India scored a big score of 255 runs. In response, with the help of excellent bowling by Akshar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah, Team India had bowled out New Zealand for just 159 runs.
