FAA Suspends Flights at Major DC Airports Due to Chemical Odor

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has put a temporary stop to flights at three key airports in the Washington, DC region due to a strong chemical smell that has affected air traffic controllers. According to the FAA's announcement, operations at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) are currently on hold as officials investigate the source of the odor detected at the Potomac TRACON facility. The agency noted that the chemical scent was impacting several air traffic controllers, leading to this precautionary measure. Consequently, numerous flights have experienced delays or diversions.
