The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has successfully wrapped up the High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) examinations for 2026. With the exams now behind them, students and their families are keenly anticipating the results. The evaluation of answer sheets is scheduled to begin on March 18, after which the compilation of results will start promptly to ensure a timely release.
Expected Result Release Timeline
Although the Board has not confirmed the exact date for the results, preparations are in full swing. Once available, students will have the option to view their scorecards online through the official website and the Amar Ujala results portal. Historically, results are typically announced in the last week of April; for instance, last year, the results were released on April 25, 2025.
Evaluation Process Details
The evaluation process is set to commence on March 18, 2026, with 250 evaluation centers established statewide. This year, new guidelines will be introduced during the evaluation, which may enhance students' passing rates.
Improved Chances of Passing
The Board has instructed examiners to implement a 'step-marking' system. This means that if a student uses the correct method but makes a minor mistake in their final answer, they will still receive partial credit for their work. For example, if a question is worth five marks and a student correctly completes three steps, they will earn three marks, even if the final answer is incorrect.
Subjects Benefiting from New Rules
This new marking approach is particularly advantageous for subjects like Mathematics and Science. Examiners are encouraged to focus on the steps taken by students during evaluations and to overlook minor errors in non-language subjects.
Adopting a Lenient Evaluation Policy
The Board has also directed a more lenient evaluation strategy to maintain students' confidence and ensure they are not penalized for minor mistakes. Attention to spelling and grammatical errors will be limited to language subjects such as Hindi and English.
Teacher Deployment for Evaluation
A significant number of teachers have been appointed for the evaluation of answer sheets, totaling 153,530 educators.
