UP Board Result Date 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) successfully concluded the High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) board examinations for the year 2026 on Thursday. With the examinations now concluded, students and parents will be eagerly awaiting the results. The UP Board is set to commence the evaluation of answer sheets on March 18, following which the process of compiling the results will begin in earnest to ensure their release as soon as possible.
When were the results released last year?
While the Board has not yet announced the exact date for the results, preparations are proceeding at a rapid pace. Once the results are declared, students will be able to check their scorecards online—both on the official website and on the Amar Ujala results portal. Based on past trends, the results are expected to be declared during the last week of April 2026. Last year, the Board declared the Class 10 and Class 12 results on April 25, 2025.
Evaluation of Answer Sheets to Begin on March 18
According to sources, the evaluation of answer sheets is scheduled to commence on March 18, 2026. To facilitate this process, 250 evaluation centers have been established across the state. This year, new guidelines will be implemented during the evaluation process, which could potentially increase the students' chances of passing.
Why might the chances of passing increase this year?
This time, the Board has issued instructions to examiners to adopt a 'step-marking' system. Under this system, if a student employs the correct method or formula while attempting to solve a problem but makes a minor error in the final answer, they will still be awarded partial marks for that specific question.
For instance, if a question carries a weightage of five marks and a student correctly completes three steps of the solution, they will be awarded three marks, even if their final answer is incorrect.
Greater Benefits Expected in These Subjects
This rule is considered to be particularly beneficial for students in subjects such as Mathematics and Science. Examiners have been instructed to prioritize the steps demonstrated by students while evaluating answers and to overlook minor grammatical or spelling errors in non-language subjects.
A Lenient Evaluation Policy Will Be Adopted
The Board has also issued directives to adopt a lenient approach in the evaluation process to ensure that students' confidence remains intact and that they do not suffer any disadvantage due to minor errors. The scrutiny of spelling and grammatical errors will be strictly limited to subjects such as Hindi, English, and other languages.
1.53 Lakh Teachers to Evaluate Answer Sheets
The Board has deployed a large number of teachers for the evaluation of answer sheets. This year, a total of 153,530 teachers have been assigned to evaluation duties.
