One Fox News anchor who was in the room when King Charles met US president Donald Trump for a state dinner was yanked away from the monarch after uttering one sentence that went too far. On Fox's The Five, Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld discussed their experiences at the event, which saw Queen Camilla and King Charles meet some of the famous faces from American TV.

Gutfeld was clearly in a jovial mood as he joked: "It was my first state dinner, it might be my last. They're still investigating the incident in the men's room. The afterparty was insane, Jesse was not invited, but I went to the afterparty... it was great, we all took helicopter rides with Kid Rock. Unbelievable."

As for Watters, he said: "You have to go through security when you get in. We go through and Emma and I got stopped because I put Emma's information down wrong. I got her birthday wrong.

"We had to stand there for five minutes and the woman says, 'Don't worry, every member of Fox screwed up their paperwork'. I get in and I see Bret [Baier] and he says, 'Yeah, I put my wife's birthday wrong too.' Then I go see Greg and he goes, 'Yeah, I spelled my wife's name wrong'."

Gutfeld insisted: "I had a reason because the translation of her last name is always off! But it was fine."

Watters then told his anecdote about meeting Charles: "You do the walkthrough where you do the introduction, the King had no idea who I was. I said, 'I'm on Fox, and I have two shows' and he goes, 'Well, they must really love you here'.

"So we go down and there's the Queen and I said, 'How's the beehive?' and she goes, 'It was very good, no-one got stung'. And then I said, 'This is Washington DC - if the bees don't get you, the guns will'."

His incredulous co-star asked: "You said that?" as Watters said: "Yeah! And then this woman just starts pulling me away from them! I don't know what I was saying. I started mumbling."
