Amidst the scorching heat, the weather has again taken a turn in Madhya Pradesh. Rain warning has also been issued in 17 districts of the state on Friday (May 1, 2026). During this period, there is also a possibility of wind blowing at a speed of 30 to 50 km per hour. At present, the weather pattern is expected to remain the same till May 4. A new western disturbance, which is going to become active on May 2, may see an increase in rain activities.
On Thursday (30 April 2026), there was rain and thunderstorm in 15 districts including Umaria, Tikamgarh, Sagar, Raisen, Guna, Rewa Satna, Khajuraho, Bhind, Morena. Rain and storm along with hail fell in Tikamgarh and Umaria. Due to strong winds, many trees fell and electricity also failed. A cruise boat filled with 43 people also capsized in Bargi Dam of Jabalpur. So far 9 people have died in this, while 28 people have been rescued safely. Teams of Army, NDRF and SDRF are engaged in search operation to find the remaining missing people. The maximum temperature in eastern MP was around -38-40 degrees Celsius and in the western part it was around 40-42 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), at present cyclonic circulation and western disturbance are active. Due to its effect, there will be a big change in the weather of North and East Madhya Pradesh. Cloudy, rain and storm conditions will persist in the state till May 4, 2026. A new western disturbance is also expected to become active on May 2. There is no possibility of heat wave anywhere during this period.

- Today, warning of thunderstorm and rain has been issued in Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Sidhi, Mauganj, Singrauli, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur, Dindauri, Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Mandla, Seoni and Balaghat districts.
- Khandwa, Khargone, Jhabua, Ujjain, Neemuch, Agar-Malwa, Mandsaur, Shajapur, Dewas, Ratlam, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Maihar, Panna, Katni, Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Indore, Dhar, Alirajpur, Burhanpur, Barwani, Damoh, Jabalpur, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara and Pandhurna will be affected by heat during the day, although strong winds may provide relief in the evening.
