Those looking for a budget-friendly getaway should look no further than this stunning Greek coastal destination. Faliraki Beach, located on the Greek island of Rhodes, has been named the cheapest beach destination in Europe.
The airport transfers experts at hoppa analysed dozens of European getaways, looking at the average cost of a three-star hotel stay in the nearest town. Faliraki topped the list, with hotel prices starting at just £36 per night. In addition to being a cost-effective location, this beach receives 0mm of summer rainfall, making it the ultimate destination for those seeking guaranteed sun, with temperatures averaging 25.7°C.
A recent visitor to Faliraki took to TripAdvisor to praise the destination, writing: "If you love a sandy beach, then this is the place for you.
"There are loads of things to do, many watersports, boat trips to take, or just let the kids play on the sand or have a paddle in the cool, blue sea. Wonderful place, with many lovely restaurants serving authentic Greek food."
Another wrote: "Very clean sea and beach. Many shops and very good prices...There are bars and restaurants with relatively good prices."
Others praised the beach for its "panoramic views", "lovely beach bars" and, "warm and crystal-clear" waters.
However, not everyone was as blown away by the beach, with one disappointed visitor complaining: "Faliraki is totally run down", while a second added: "It's a one-horse town with most of the restaurants, bars, etc. closed in April. Nothing to say that is good about the town."
Following Faliraki Beach, the Croatian destinations of Kašjuni Beach and Bavice Beach came in second, with average hotel prices starting at £56.
The list of affordable destinations was completely dominated by Greece, Croatia and Portugal, with these three countries proving great options for those looking for beach getaways that won't break the bank.
