Aurelien Tchouameni has once again become a vital part of the French national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, officially announced on Tuesday (2 June 2026).

The defensive midfielder has been included in the list of players called up by Les Bleus to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

According to the official list released by FIFA, Tchouameni is one of five midfielders selected by France alongside N'Golo Kante, Manu Kone, Adrien Rabiot, and Warren Zaire-Emery.

In addition to an experienced midfield lineup, the French squad also features several star players such as Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, Marcus Thuram, and William Saliba.

Aurelien Djani Tchouameni was born in Rouen, France, on 27 January 2000.

The 26-year-old player stands 1.88 meters tall and plays primarily as a defensive midfielder.

Tchouameni holds dual nationality — French and Cameroonian.

Known for his strong right foot, he excels in defensive play, ball distribution, and aerial duels.

Currently, Tchouameni represents Spanish giants Real Madrid, having previously played for AS Monaco and FC Girondins Bordeaux.

Tchouameni’s international career developed progressively through France’s youth setups.

He represented France at the 2017 U-17 World Cup with the national U-17 team.
