Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Reopens Jail Warder Recruitment Applications

Great news for job seekers in Jharkhand! The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has restarted the application process for the position of Jail Warders (Kakshpal). Interested candidates can submit their applications until June 19. This decision comes after a court ruling concerning the upper age limit, prompting the Commission to adjust its timeline and offer another chance for applicants.


The last date to pay the application fee and print the application form is June 21, 2026. Candidates will have the opportunity to make corrections to their applications from June 22 to June 24, 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill 1,733 Jail Warder positions, with 1,634 allocated for male candidates and 64 for female candidates.


Eligibility Criteria


To qualify for this role, applicants must have completed Class 10 from a recognized educational institution. The age requirement is between 18 and 25 years. Additionally, male candidates should have a minimum height of 160 cm, while those from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) must be at least 155 cm tall. Female candidates need to be a minimum of 148 cm tall.

Selection Process


The recruitment selection will involve a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), a written examination, and a medical assessment. The physical test is qualifying, meaning only those who pass it will be allowed to take the written exam. The written test will be conducted offline and will consist of three papers covering language, general knowledge, general science, and mathematics.
