The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has commenced the application process for the recruitment of Junior Secretariat Assistants (JSA) and Lower Division Clerks (LDC). Interested candidates can apply online starting from June 5, 2026, with the deadline set for June 26, 2026. This recruitment initiative aims to fill various vacancies across multiple departments. The examination is anticipated to take place in July or August 2026, and candidates are encouraged to complete their applications promptly.

The SSC has published the official recruitment notification for the JSA and LDC positions. Aspiring candidates should ensure they apply within the specified timeframe, as applications will only be accepted through online submission.

The upper age limit for applicants is set at 45 years. However, candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation according to government regulations. Specifically, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates will benefit from a 5-year age relaxation, while Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates will receive age adjustments as per the applicable rules.

Selection of candidates will be based on a written examination, which will be conducted in two phases.

Paper-1: This paper requires candidates to write an essay, carrying a total of 100 marks, with a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Paper-2: The second paper will feature 100 multiple-choice questions covering General English, General Hindi, and General Knowledge. This paper will also be worth 100 marks and will have a duration of 2 hours. Note that there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

Candidates can submit their applications online via the official SSC website. Initially, they must complete the 'One-Time Registration' process. After that, candidates should provide their personal and educational details, upload scanned copies of necessary documents, and submit the application form. It is advisable to keep a printout of the submitted form for future reference.
