The former Italy captain and World Cup winner became the focus of an unusual airport security situation upon landing in the USA with the Uzbekistan team delegation. Despite his global recognition, Cannavaro was subjected to the same detailed inspection as other members of the group. Footage shared online captured security officials going through his belongings while he calmly waited nearby.

The incident occurred ahead of Uzbekistan’s friendly match against the Netherlands, which De Oranje went on to win 2-1. Cody Gakpo scored both goals for the Dutch side, while Igor Sergeev netted Uzbekistan’s solitary strike.
