A big question has been raised on the job of a training officer working under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Rouse Avenue Court has convicted training officer Gaurav Malik in the case of obtaining a government post on the basis of fake experience certificate.

The court’s investigation revealed that the company in which the experience certificate was presented claiming to be employed, did not exist at that time. The accused had mentioned in the document that he was working since 1993, whereas the concerned company was established in the year 1995. This revelation exposed the truth of the entire matter.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mayank Goyal, in his judgment, found Gaurav Malik guilty of charges to fraud, use of fake documents and tampering with evidence. However, the court acquitted him on a charge to forgery.

Claim of job in 1993, but the company was formed in 1995

According to the prosecution, Gaurav Malik had submitted the experience certificate of Bhopal-based Krishna Engineering Company while applying for the post of Training Officer (Professional Services). This document claimed that he was working as a sales manager in the company since March 10, 1993.

On the basis of this experience he was selected and got a government job. But during the court hearing, company partner Rakesh Aggarwal clearly said that Gaurav Malik was never an employee of his company. He also said that the company itself was started in the year 1995, due to which serious questions were raised on the credibility of the certificate.

UPSC officer’s testimony also became important

In the case, the then Deputy Secretary of UPSC told the court that after scrutiny of the application forms, eligible candidates were called for interview. Gaurav Malik was selected on the basis of submitted documents and experience.

However, subsequent investigation and testimonies presented in the court proved that the information recorded in the experience certificate was not factually correct. On this basis the court declared the accused guilty.
