Arjun Sarja's martial arts action thriller 'Blast' continues to add to its box office total despite witnessing a decline in collections during its second week. The film which is directed by debutant Subash K. Raj has managed to maintain audience interest through its action-packed narrative and family-centric storyline.

The film revolves around Rajaram, a karate teacher who lives with his wife Neelaveni and daughter Nila. Their peaceful life takes a dramatic turn when a powerful corporate syndicate threatens their family.

'Blast' day 13 collection sees expected dropAccording to Sacnilk, 'Blast' collected Rs 1.04 crore net in India on Day 13. This marks a 28.3 percent drop from the Rs 1.45 crore net collected on Day 12. The decline is not unusual for a film entering its second week. Despite the drop, the movie has managed to sustain a respectable theatrical run.

'Blast' was screened across 1,491 shows on Tuesday. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 20.19 percent in the Tamil version. Night shows generated the strongest response with an occupancy of 26.15 percent.

'Blast's worldwide gross collection touches Rs 57.36 crore'Blast's global gross collection now stands at Rs 57.36 crore. In India, the film has accumulated Rs 38.23 crore in net collections so far. Its domestic gross collection has reached Rs 43.96 crore. International territories have generated Rs 13.40 crore in gross collections.

The film enjoyed a healthy start during its opening week. 'Blast' collected Rs 25.78 crore net during its first seven days in theatres. Day 7 alone contributed Rs 2.75 crore net. The film maintained decent momentum through the first week before entering the expected slowdown phase.

Even in its second week, the collections have remained steady enough to help the film move closer to the Rs 40 crore India net mark.

Action sequences receive positive responseOne of the biggest talking points surrounding 'Blast' has been its action choreography. ETimes review stated, "The best of Blast, though, lies in the little details. For instance, the biggest action twist in the film does not come from Arjun or Preity. And I know who you are thinking, it isn’t from Abhirami either. Instead, the film hands its biggest action pivot to a fourth person altogether, which makes the setup interesting. From a stunning introduction fight sequence for Preity, the film has an action block every five to ten minutes. Yet, it gets redundant only in very few instances, thanks to predictable yet exciting twists."
