In a continued effort to combat drug trafficking, the Nurpur Police have apprehended a third suspect under the PIT-NDPS Act. The individual, identified as Raj Kumar alias Raju, son of the late Ashok Kumar and a resident of Toki village in Tehsil Indora, was arrested in Phillaur, Punjab.
Previously, two other suspects had been detained under the same preventive measures. With Raj Kumar's capture, all three targeted individuals are now in police custody.
Criminal History: Raj Kumar has a documented history of drug-related offenses, with two prior cases against him:
Due to his ongoing criminal activities, the Himachal Pradesh Home Department issued preventive detention orders for three months under the PIT-NDPS Act. Following his arrest, Raj Kumar has been transferred to Police Station Damtal for further legal action and will be held at District Jail Kangra in Dharamshala during the detention period as mandated by government directives.
Commitment to Combat Drug Trade: The Nurpur Police have reiterated their commitment to eradicating the illegal drug trade in the area, emphasizing that stringent preventive and legal actions will persist against repeat offenders to dismantle narcotics networks.
