They took part in a fundraising event for Support+Feed, a nonprofit that works to address the climate crisis and food insecurity, according to the U.S. magazine InStyle. The tournament was held at the PIKL sports complex and attracted a number of artists and other celebrities.

Photos and videos from the event showed Jolie and Pax Thien competing in the doubles category. The 22-year-old Vietnamese-born displayed agility and energy on the court. In one rally, he leapt in the air for a half spin to return the ball.

Standing beside him, Jolie appeared visibly proud. Though she did not seem entirely comfortable with the sport, she showed enthusiasm, bursting into laughter several times after unsuccessful shots.

She was in her trademark minimalist style, wearing a black spaghetti-strap top that revealed her arm tattoos and loose black trousers. To shield herself from the Los Angeles sun, she wore dark sunglasses and a tan wide-brimmed hat accented with a black ribbon.

Pax Thien was similarly understated in a white T-shirt, brown corduroy trousers, white sneakers, silver jewelry, and a tan corduroy cap.

Away from the court, Jolie spent time with Patrick O’Connell and Maggie Baird, the co-founders of Support+Feed, which they launched in 2020. They are also the parents of musicians Billie Eilish and Finneas, both of whom attended the event. Other celebrities taking part included actors Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, and Mel C of the Spice Girls band.

Jolie’s daughter Shiloh Jollie was also in attendance in a simple black outfit with rumored girlfriend, dancer Keoni. The four were seen chatting cheerfully in the stands while watching others play. The event took place two days after Jolie’s 51st birthday.

The British newspaper Daily Mail reported that the actress marked the occasion with an intimate family gathering with her children in Los Angeles on June 4.
