Dubai . The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the nomination list for the Player of the Month Award for the month of May for men and women. The dominance of players from Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, England and New Zealand has been seen in this list.
Men’s nominated players
In the men’s category, Nepal’s all-rounder Deependra Singh Airi, Bangladesh’s spinner Taijul Islam and experienced batsman Mushfiqur Rahim have received nominations. Deependra Singh Airi (Nepal) scored a century against UAE and scored 249 runs in the entire month. He also took 8 wickets. While Taijul Islam (Bangladesh) played an important role in the team’s victory by taking 13 wickets in the Test series against Pakistan. Whereas, Mushfiqur Rahim (Bangladesh) performed best in the series by scoring 235 runs.
Nominated players of women’s category
In the women’s category, Lauren Bell of England, Gal Farooza of Pakistan and Maddy Green of New Zealand have been shortlisted. Lauren Bell (England) bowled brilliantly against New Zealand and India and took 13 wickets. Gal Farooza (Pak) scored 50, 100 and 106 not out in three consecutive matches in the ODI series against Zimbabwe. Maddy Green (New Zealand) performed well against England, scoring 125 runs in ODI and 93 runs in T20.
