After the recently held INDIA alliance meeting, BJP is continuously targeting. There were also reports of merger of Trinamool Congress and Sharad Pawar faction NCP with Congress. After which on Friday Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had described Congress as a “sinking ship”. Countering this statement of the Chief Minister, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut gave a sharp reaction on Saturday.
Shiv Sena-UBT leader Sanjay Raut said that Congress is not a sinking ship. He said that the leaders who had earlier left the Congress and formed different political parties, should now forget their differences and unite again and come forward to strengthen the Congress.
Sanjay Raut also appealed to Nationalist Congress Party (SP) President Sharad Pawar to take initiative in this direction. He said like-minded leaders need to come together to strengthen the opposition forces and play an effective role in national politics. Raut gave this statement while talking to journalists in Pune.
Sanjay Raut’s appeal to opposition parties
In view of the current political situation, Sanjay Raut has also appealed for unity against the politics of Bharatiya Janata Party. Raut said that all opposition parties will have to unite to effectively counter BJP’s politics. If we really want to fight strongly against the policies and politics of BJP, all opposition parties have to come together. Congress should also be strong.
Raut further said, all the leaders who have left Congress should consider coming on one platform again. If senior leader Sharad Pawar takes initiative in this direction, it may be possible. We are a regional party, but will stand with you with full strength in this effort.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had described Congress as a sinking ship. He had said that Congress is now a sinking ship. Those who are aboard are in danger of drowning soon. Fadnavis targeted Congress and said that the party is continuously becoming weak. He further said, the leaders aboard the sinking ship of Congress may also have to face its consequences.
