Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off tonight, featuring five-time world champions Brazil taking on Morocco, the impressive semi-finalists from 2022, in what promises to be one of the most exciting fixtures of the tournament so far.
The match will be broadcast live on BBC One.
Fronting the coverage will be Kelly Cates, who serves as the lead presenter. This will mark Cates’ first major tournament with the BBC since joining the network at the start of the previous season. She was appointed as one of three replacements for Gary Lineker on 'Match of the Day'.
Joining Cates in the studio will be a distinguished panel comprising a former England goalkeeper, a Moroccan international, and a former Uruguay star.
Joe Hart, England’s first-choice goalkeeper during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, will feature as one of the key pundits. Hart, who earned 75 caps for the national team, brings a wealth of international experience and insight to the broadcast team.
He will be joined by Hassan Kachloul, the former Aston Villa midfielder who represented Morocco at their last World Cup appearance in the United States in 1994. Kachloul, who played 12 times for the Atlas Lions, adds valuable perspective on Morocco’s footballing heritage and current ambitions.
