The University of Kota has released the official notification for the Rajasthan State Eligibility Test (SET) 2026. Who can apply?
Candidates belonging to the General, Unreserved, and EWS categories must have secured at least 55% marks in their Master's degree from a UGC-recognized institution. A minimum of 50% marks is required for candidates belonging to the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender categories.
Students in the final year of their postgraduate course or those awaiting their results may also apply; however, they must fulfill the required educational qualifications within the stipulated timeframe.
What are the age limit and exam pattern?
There is no upper age limit for appearing in this exam. The examination will consist of two papers. Paper I will comprise 50 questions carrying 100 marks, while Paper II will consist of 100 questions carrying 200 marks. The total duration for both papers will be three hours.
Marking scheme and application fee
Two marks will be awarded for each correct answer, and there will be no negative marking. The application fee is set at ₹1,500 for General category candidates and candidates from other states; ₹1,200 for EWS and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates; and ₹750 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

Candidates should visit the official website of the University of Kota and click on the Rajasthan SET 2026 application link. After this, log in via the SSO portal, fill in the required details, upload the documents, pay the fee, submit the application form, and keep a copy for your records.
Certificate Validity
The Rajasthan SET certificate will be valid only within the state of Rajasthan, but it will remain valid for a lifetime. Successful candidates will be considered eligible for recruitment as Assistant Professors in universities and colleges.
