Vinicius Jr delivered a match-winning performance as Brazil secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Scotland, strengthening their position as one of the favorites at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Brazilian winger was the standout player in Miami, scoring twice and constantly troubling the Scottish defense. His goals helped Brazil finish top of Group C, while Scotland's hopes of progressing to the knockout rounds were left hanging by a thread.

Brazil took the lead early in the match after Scotland failed to deal with pressure at the back. Vinicius Jr reacted quickest to a loose ball, calmly rounding the goalkeeper before finishing into an empty net. The goal immediately shifted momentum in Brazil's favor.

The Real Madrid star thought he had doubled the lead later in the first half, but VAR intervened and ruled the effort out following a foul in the build-up. However, Vinicius was not denied for long. Deep into first-half stoppage time, he rose to meet a precise cross from Bruno Guimaraes and headed home Brazil's second goal.

Scotland struggled to recover after the break, and Brazil continued to dominate possession and create opportunities. Vinicius came close to completing his hat-trick early in the second half, but the chance slipped away.

Brazil eventually added a third goal just after the hour mark. Following excellent work from Guimaraes inside the penalty area, Matheus Cunha finished confidently to put the result beyond doubt.

Although Scotland produced a stronger response in the latter stages, goalkeeper Alisson was equal to the few chances they created. The Brazilian shot-stopper made several important saves to preserve his clean sheet.

The match also marked the return of Neymar, who received a warm reception from supporters when he entered the game. While he showed glimpses of quality, the evening belonged to Vinicius Jr, whose outstanding display once again highlighted his importance to Carlo Ancelotti's side.

With the group stage now complete, Brazil advance with confidence and momentum, while Scotland must wait and hope that other results keep their World Cup dream alive.
