Chinese rugged smartphone manufacturer 8849 has launched its new flagship smartphone Tank 5. The biggest feature of this phone is its inbuilt 2K DLP laser projector which makes it completely different from normal smartphones.

Tank 5 has been specially designed for users who love adventure and outdoor activities. This phone can prove to be not just a smartphone but a powerhouse of entertainment and utility. Through this, users can enjoy a big screen like experience anywhere. The company has provided features like laser based auto focus and automatic keystone correction which improves the quality of projection. It offers 220 lumens brightness and 2048 x 1080 pixels resolution.

Another feature of the phone is that it also has a laser rangefinder measuring up to 4 meters which turns it into a useful tool. This feature can prove to be very helpful during outdoor camping and professional use.

Talking about the display, Tank 5 has a large 6.73 inch AMOLED punch hole display. It comes with 3200 x 1440 pixels resolution with 120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits peak brightness. Due to high brightness, the screen can be easily seen even in strong sunlight.

For photography, the phone has a 50 megapixel main camera, 50 megapixel night vision camera and 50 megapixel telephoto camera. A 32-megapixel front camera is available for selfie and video calling. Night vision camera is capable of taking great photos in low light.

Even in terms of performance, this smartphone is no less than a flagship device. It has MediaTek Dimensity 9400e processor. The phone supports 18GB RAM and 512GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 2TB via micro SD card. This smartphone runs on Android 16 operating system and the company has promised to provide security updates for five years.

The battery is one of its biggest strengths. The Tank 5 is powered by a massive 17600mAh battery that ensures long lasting usage. It supports 120W fast charging and 25W reverse charging so that other devices can also be charged.

The phone also has many advanced features like IP68 and IP69K water resistance rating, WiFi 7 NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, eSIM support, 3.5mm headphone jack and 1200 lumen camping light.

Talking about the price, the price of 8849 Tank 5 in the global market has been kept at 899.99 dollars i.e. approximately 85 thousand rupees. Currently, it has been launched only in Black color option and is not available in India.
