Busy Lifestyle Health Risks: Sitting in front of the screen from morning till evening and completing work and then saying that ‘there is no time for exercise’‘… This has become the bitter truth of today’s times. Most of us do not deliberately ignore our health, but under the burden of work, proper eating habits, sleep and some physical activity automatically get left behind. This dull routine has now taken the form of a silent killer.
Small carelessness is becoming new ‘Normal’ Busy Lifestyle Health Risks
Due to busy schedules, not eating on time, filling the stomach with ready-to-eat junk food when hungry, sacrificing sleep to eliminate work pressure and postponing workouts indefinitely have become common nowadays. In the beginning these habits seem very minor, but gradually they become a part of our everyday life. Health experts consider it a ‘silent killer’, which is hollowing the body from inside without any major initial symptoms.
The problem is not about timehas chosen priorities
According to doctors, what most people actually lack is not time, but correct and systematic habits.
- Just walking for 10 to 15 minutes a day
- eating nutritious food on time
- Getting full and deep sleep of 7 to 8 hours
These are not such difficult tasks for which separate arrangements of hours have to be made. But since the benefits of these small habits are not immediately visible, people easily ignore them. On the contrary, office work provides immediate output, due to which we unknowingly compromise our health. Increase in blood pressure, worsening sugar level and slowing down of metabolism do not give any warning in the initial stages, but by the time symptoms emerge, major damage has been done to the body.
Being ‘busy’ does not mean being ‘active’.
Often people think that if they have a packed schedule throughout the day then they are active. The reality is that today’s work culture has become very sedentary. Spending 8 to 10 hours a day continuously sitting in a chair in front of a screen harms the body. Due to less physical movement, the body is not able to process sugar and fat properly, due to which the risk of fatty liver, type-2 diabetes and heart diseases increases manifold.
Tensionlack of sleep and the dangerous cycle of hormones
Less sleep completely spoils the hormonal balance of the body, which leads to problems like fatigue all the time and excessive hunger unnecessarily. Chronic stress increases the levels of cortisol (stress hormone) in the body, which becomes the main reason for stubborn fat accumulation around the abdomen. This becomes a dangerous cycle of stress from less sleep, bad eating habits from stress and then metabolic breakdown. If we do not take out some time for health today, then tomorrow we will be forced to waste both time and money for treatment.
