Ram has not yet started delivering its new Rumble Bee pickup trucks to customers, but it is already preparing something especially dramatic for the arrival of the very first one. The first retail-production unit will be given a 900-plus-horsepower upgrade and a one-off paint finish before being sent to the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction on September 11, where it will be sold to the highest bidder. Even better, the successful bidder will not take home just one high-performance truck, because the new pickup will go under the hammer as a pair alongside a customised 2005 Ram 1500 SRT-10.

The standard 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT, as you may recall, uses a supercharged 6.2-litre Hellcat V8 that produces 777 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque. Ram says that is enough for a 0–60 mph time of 3.4 seconds, an 11.6-second quarter-mile run, and a top speed of 170 mph. Clearly, that was still not extreme enough for the first example, so Ram is fitting it with its previously announced Direct Connection upgrades for this inaugural truck. That means a larger 3.0-litre supercharger that pushes output beyond 900 hp, along with a Magnaflow stainless-steel cat-back exhaust.

This one-off version also gets a hand-painted Molten Red Pearl upper body over Diamond Black Crystal Pearl, together with a black bonnet stripe, satin-black 22-inch wheels, Flame Red badges, and Brembo calipers. A numbered console plaque will serve as proof of the build’s authenticity.

The accompanying 2005 Ram SRT-10 comes from a very different chapter in the history of muscle trucks. Its 8.3-litre naturally aspirated V-10 was sourced directly from the Dodge Viper and makes 500 hp. RealTruck and ProMotorsports have refinished it in yellow over black, while also adding Viper-inspired bedside graphics, matching wheels, leather seats with yellow accents, powered side steps, a roll-up tonneau cover, and upgraded bed and floor protection.

As this charity auction will support Folds of Honor, a non-profit that provides scholarships to the families of U.S. service members and first responders who were killed or disabled while serving, as well as the UFC Foundation, the mixed martial arts organisation’s charitable non-profit arm, Barrett-Jackson is waiving its fees and commissions. The winning bidder will also receive a VIP experience at a future UFC event. In addition, UFC president and CEO Dana White will join Barrett-Jackson CEO Craig Jackson on stage during the auction to encourage bidders to stretch a little further.
