On the first date of May, people have got the gift of cheapness. The prices of commercial LPG cylinders have come down. From May 1, commercial gas cylinders in Delhi have become cheaper by Rs 15. However, there has been no change in the price of domestic gas cylinders. In April, commercial LPG cylinders were available for Rs 1762 and now the price has gone up to Rs 1747. At the same time, the price of commercial LPG cylinders in Kolkata has gone up to Rs 1851, in Mumbai to Rs 1699, and in Chennai to Rs 1906.
At the same time, domestic LPG cylinders in Delhi are being sold for Rs 853 in Delhi, Rs 879 in Kolkata, Rs 852.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 868.50 in Chennai. Earlier, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders were updated on April 8. At that time, the government had increased the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder by Rs 50.
33 crore LPG connections across the country
There are 32.9 crore LPG connections across the country, out of which 10.33 crore connections come under the Ujjwala scheme. Under this scheme, the government gives subsidy of up to Rs 300 per cylinder to poor families. In this year's budget i.e. in the budget of FY26, the government has allotted Rs 11100 crore for LPG subsidy.
