WhatsApp is updating a new version of its Windows beta app with a fresh design and several new features. Now, the new interface is similar to WhatsApp Web and the Mac version, making the experience the same on all platforms. With the update, users can now find channels and communities in separate tabs, making it easier to follow and handle group interactions.
Channels, which were only for mobile and Mac users, have been added to the Windows beta. Users have the ability to follow channels that are organised into groups and see them all in one place. The platform automatically keeps all devices up-to-date, so if you follow a channel on your mobile, it will show up on your Windows device and vice versa.
Redesigned interface and tab system
There are now separate parts in the sidebar for Channels and Communities. Now, channels are part of the ‘Updates’ tab, which mixes them with status updates to make it easier to find content. It is now simpler to manage communities since you can see all the active group chats right away.
Cross-platform sync and directory features
Whether you add channels on Windows, iOS, or Android, they will sync up automatically across all your devices. Users can use a directory to discover new channels to their interests, helping them stay connected with minimal effort. The updates are being released gradually through the Microsoft Store and will soon become available to more people.
