Mumbai – A youth has been arrested for attempting to kill a family by setting fire to a house in Borivali. While his three companions are absconding. Initially it was suspected that the fire was accidental. But CCTV footage revealed that the accused deliberately attempted murder by setting fire to the house.
A house caught fire in a house in Ganpat Patil Nagar of Borivali (West). The bike of the complainant Julie Kewat (age 37) and the bike parked next to it was damaged. At first everyone felt that this was an accident. But CCTV footage revealed that the attempt to murder was a conspiracy. In CCTV footage, accused Devraj Patil (age 22) and his three companions were seen on fire on Julie Kewat’s house and bike on the morning of 14 May. After the incident, the woman lodged a complaint with the MHB police.
The reason behind this crime is believed to be a dispute between the complainant’s son Lucky and one of the accused. There was a fight between Lucky and Shadab over a meeting with a person named Murari Chaudhary. The accused threatened the son of complainant Julie. Julie and her family were sleeping at home on the morning of 14 May. After this, the accused tried to kill Julie’s house and kill her.

After the fire, Julie and her family ran out of the house in time and shouted. Then the fire was extinguished with the help of neighbors.
The accused in the case Devraj Patil was arrested on Friday night. It is a habitual criminal.
