Tragic Incident in Amethi District
In a shocking incident in the Sangrampur area of Amethi district, a 22-year-old man was murdered following an alleged blackmail scheme involving a young woman and her brother-in-law. Authorities reported the details on Friday.
According to Amethi's Superintendent of Police, Aparna Rajat Kaushik, the accused, Sagar, had recorded an inappropriate video of the couple and was using it to extort the woman.
Kaushik explained that on the night of June 4, Sagar entered the woman's home through the roof, where he was attacked with an axe by the woman's brother-in-law.
Following the assault, the attackers slit his throat, concealed the body, and hid it in a nearby animal shed.
The official noted that the crime scene was allegedly smeared with cow dung in an attempt to erase bloodstains. Kumkum, a 20-year-old resident of Sangrampur, has been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to locate co-accused Bed Prakash Kori.
