The Raja Raghuvanshi murder case has sent shockwaves across the country. The murder of Raja Raghuvanshi in Meghalaya, where he had gone on his honeymoon with his wife Sonam, sparked widespread debate and unfortunately led to unfair backlash and negative sentiments toward the people of the North East. Moreover, the murder raised serious concerns about safety in the region, leading to a wave of cancellations for travel agencies. Chum Darang , who hails from Arunachal Pradesh, has reacted to the chilling murder case and also came out strongly in support of the Northeast states.
The Bigg Boss 18 contestant, took to her social media account and wrote, "This Raja Raghuvanshi case had me shook beyond words. I am sure everyone was worried for the 'wife' after the news of Raja being found. But never did I think she would be behind all this. Breaks my heart."
She further defended Northeast states in her post, “Also, I saw a lot of people were blaming the locals, the state, the region, to find out what? I am not saying NE states mein crime hota nehi hai, but sidha logon pe ungli uthana acchi baat nehi hai. (I'm not claiming that the Northeastern states are free of crime, but blaming the entire community is unfair). My condolences."
