Who should update Aadhaar?
UIDAI has especially asked those people to update Aadhaar, who updated their Aadhaar 10 years ago and have not made any updates in till now. If someone's name, address, or any other information has changed due to that person's marriage, transfer, or other reasons, then this facility is very useful.
Earlier it used to cost ₹50, now it is free.
Earlier this online service used to cost ₹50. However, a fee is still charged for visiting a physical Aadhaar update center. UIDAI has removed this charge to promote document updates through digital means.
How to do free Aadhaar updates online?
Go to the official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
Login with your Aadhaar number and OTP.
Check your information and click on ‘I verify…’.
Select Proof of Identity (PoI) and upload in less than 2MB size (JPEG/PNG/PDF).
Select and upload the Document with Address (PoA).
Give consent and submit.
Download the receipt.
