Is there any age limit for Aadhaar?
According to UIDAI, there is no minimum age to enroll for Aadhaar.
Aadhaar cards can also be issued to newborns.
Aadhaar is issued free of cost for children below 5 years of age.
Special Aadhaar for children: Bal Aadhaar
Aadhaar cards issued to children below 5 years of age are blue in color and are known as Bal Aadhaar.
These cards do not include biometric data (fingerprints or iris scan). Only the child's photo is taken.
Aadhaar for children is linked to the Aadhaar of either of the parents.
Documents required to apply
Child's birth certificate or hospital discharge certificate
Aadhaar card of either of the parents (mandatory)
Aadhaar enrolment form, filled and signed
Enrolment process for Aadhaar for children
Visit the nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre.
Fill the Aadhaar enrolment form using the parent's Aadhaar number.
Submit the child's birth certificate or discharge summary.
A photograph of the child will be taken at the centre.
After submission, an acknowledgement slip will be provided.
Use the enrolment number from the slip to track Aadhaar status online.
