However, one watering hole in the South West has been rated as a top establishment by none other than Jeremy Clarkson. The Clarkson's Farm icon, who owns his own pub named The Farmer's Dog, thoroughly enjoyed a visit to The Marlborough in 2023. The pub is situated in the leafy grounds of Richmond Hill and offers a warm welcome for guests who wish to relax with their favourite tipple after a long day. With an abundance of tables and heaters, families can enjoy the best of Richmond no matter the weather.

However, their main attraction is the food menu. During Clarkson's visit, he loved his meal so much he even tweeted: "Just popped into the Marlborough pub in Richmond upon Thames and God almighty, the food was good. Top boozer."

Serving up classic favourites such as fish and chips, mouth-watering burgers, fish pie, sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, this pub will certainly win you over, and you won't be leaving hungry.

They also offer Sunday Roasts, which are served with roast potatoes, maple-glazed carrots, savoy cabbage, crushed roots, double-egg Yorkshire pudding, and gravy. Guests have a choice between beef, chicken, pork, lamb, or vegan Wellington.

Alongside its passion for great pub grub, The Marlborough is dedicated to its craft beers, fine wines, and delicious cocktails, which ensure everyone has a memorable experience.

Even better, the pub is dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friends along. They even have a dog menu so your pooch can enjoy doggy ice cream and steak and liver pie, as well as lots of treats and snacks.

One person said online, "What a visit! First time visiting The Marlborough and wow, it did not disappoint. For starters the pub itself is just amazing with its absolute massive garden. We were lucky enough to grab a table outdoors when booking inside. To our amazement there was also table service outdoors. We ended up staying longer than expected but definitely could not fault, we ordered pork roast and just wow! Cannot fault a thing!"

A second also commented, "The Marlborough has a stunning garden with lots of seating options and the ability to be in or out of the sun. The food was excellent - probably the best fish pie I have had in my life - and the staff are very efficient and friendly."
