New Delhi: Royal Enfield have significantly increased the price of their cross-spoke wheels that is offered as an accessory for the Himalayan 450. The price has gone from Rs 12,424 to Rs 40,645. It will not be affordable for existing Himalayan buyers, but will remain at the same price for those who bundle it with their Himalayan buy.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a rare example of affordable adventure tourers offered with cross-spoke wheels. At launch, these wheels received huge appreciation for the pricing. Royal Enfield’s costing made them undercut the cost of quite a few of the tubeless-conversion kits. At just Rs 12,424, the owners would upgrade from stock tubed wheels to cross-spoke wheels. Now, for the first-time buyers, exchanging for cross-spoke wheels only costs Rs 11,000, which is much lower than before.
The cross-spoke wheels come in three colours, black, black olive and gold, to better match the variants, with no pricing in them. With the steep hike in the pricing, of course, there would be many existing consumers who would reconsider upgrading to the tubeless cross-spoke setup.
The Himalayan 450 is priced between Rs 2.85 lakh and Rs 2.98 lakh and comes with a 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 40 bhp and has a torque of 40Nm. It is partnered with a six-speed gearbox. Royal Enfield comes with the heritage tag attached to it and has set a segment for itself.
