Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko was involved in a horrifying car crash along with his family in the first week of June this year in Tamil Nadu, which resulted into the death of his father, CP Chacko. Recounting the jarring details of the day, Shine said how it was only moments ago that his father had offered him a biscuit, and the next thing he knew, the car had crashed.
“I was lying in the back seat. Instead of smoking, I had developed this habit of eating something, like a biscuit. I would wake up and ask Dad for a biscuit. He gave me some two or three times. Then, when I opened my eyes again, the car had crashed. I was in the back. After that, dad never communicated with any of us again,” he told The Cue.
He went on to say that the accident was so sudden that it took them time to realise that they were lying on the road, and his mother kept asking why they were there. “I broke down and cried, standing on the road, ‘Someone please come and help, someone please get us to the hospital’,” he recalled.

I called out to dad, but he wasn’t responding,” he added.
‘Got 30 stitches, cracked back’: Shine Tom Chacko
Opening up on his injuries due to the accident, the actor recalled asking his doctor how many stitches he had gotten, to which the doctor replied that he had 30 stitches. He also shared that he had a small crack in his back due to the accident.

“Mommy’s dislocated hip was relocated and put back in place. Now she’s lying down. There’s a small crack in her hip,” he said, adding that her mother has still not accepted his father’s death, and that she keeps asking about his whereabouts.

Shine Tom Chacko, along with his parents and brother, was travelling to Bengaluru when their car was hit by a lorry coming from the opposite direction near Palakottai in Tamil Nadu.

Shine’s father succumbed on the spot, while the others were rushed to a hospital by locals.
In May, Shine was arrested in a drugs case, post which he was ordered by the court to undergo treatment at a rehab.
