The updated rating system will include a wider set of performance indicators and assessment criteria that will offer a more precise and comprehensive evaluation of licensed contractors and engineering consultancy offices.

According to Dubai Municipality, the revised framework will measure aspects such as technical capacity and expertise, project execution quality, regulatory and safety compliance, sustainability, and innovation practices

Authorities say the goal is to raise construction standards across the board, ensuring that all firms uphold ethical and operational excellence while contributing to Dubai’s long-term urban development goals.

In a parallel development, the Licensing and Professional Practice Registration Committee under Dubai Municipality has suspended two engineering consultancy offices for six months.

During the suspension period, the two firms will be barred from obtaining permits for new projects within Dubai.
