The tech sector is abuzz with the latest rumours on the upcoming iPhones. Apple Inc is expected to unveil the next iPhone series in September 2025. So far, reports suggest that the tech giant is looking to introduce four models—iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The “Air” variant is rumoured to replace last year’s “Plus” variant, aiming to offer a thinner and lighter phone (about 5.5mm in width), bridging the gap between the base and “Pro” models. The “Air” is set to rival phones such as Samsung’s S25 Edge.

Reports also suggest that the company may ditch Titanium and instead opt for Aluminium in order to keep the devices lightweight. Leaks also suggest a redesigned camera island for the phone, which would expand it, thereby altering the device’s appearance.

The price for the phones is expected to increase from last year, with the base model starting at ₹89,900. If this is true, it will result in a ₹10,000 increase from the current model.

This price hike might be due to the base models of the phone receiving the “Pro Motion” 120Hz display, which was previously only offered to the Pro versions of the previous phones.

All devices are expected to have LTPO OLED panels. There are also rumoured camera improvements for all phones made in the lineup. The Pro Max models might feature a triple 48MP setup, a first for an iPhone.

With Apple’s announcement of the new iOS 26 and its “Liquid Glass” design last week, we have a clearer picture of the phone’s software.

The new Pro Models may carry the new A19 Pro chipset, while the base models will retain the A18 chipset used in the previous 16 series.

With thinner designs, more powerful chipsets, improved batteries, enhanced screens, and design changes in both software and hardware, the iPhone 17 lineup promises to be a significant advancement in Apple’s smartphone evolution.
