Rain warning with thunderstorms in 67 districts
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain with thunder and lightning in a total of 67 districts of the state including Lucknow during the next few days. There is also a possibility of lightning in these districts, due to which people have been advised to be extra cautious. Life may be affected due to rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder.
Red alert in six districts including Bahraich and Lakhimpur
Meteorologists have said that there is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor and Moradabad districts of the state. Red alert has been declared in these districts, which means that the possible weather conditions can cause damage to life and property. The administration has appealed to the people to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
Heavy rain expected in 10 districts
Apart from this, there are chances of heavy rain in Shravasti, Sitapur, Shamli, Baghpat, Meerut, Amroha, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur districts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert here. This warning indicates that incidents like waterlogging, traffic disruption, and lightning may occur in the area. People have been instructed to take necessary precautions.
Monsoon covers entire western Uttar Pradesh
According to meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, the southwest monsoon has also covered the remaining parts of western Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. Due to this, there will be intermittent rain in both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh in the coming days. The temperature is expected to drop due to the activation of monsoon, but excessive rainfall may also cause waterlogging in low-lying areas and damage to crops.
Advice to people to be cautious
The state government and administration have appealed to the general public to follow the warnings of the Meteorological Department and contact the local administration in case of any emergency. Be cautious to avoid the danger of lightning, especially in open areas. Farmers have also been advised to go to the fields only after taking information about the weather.
