Hyundai is gearing up for a major refresh of its popular subcompact SUV, the Venue, and the latest spy shots suggest the updated model is inching closer to production. Caught testing at night by automotive enthusiast Nitheesh, the next-generation Venue flaunts a sharper, more mature design language that brings it in line with the carmaker’s global portfolio.

Bold New Look Inspired by the Creta

At first glance, the most noticeable change is at the front. The updated Venue draws heavy inspiration from the latest Creta, featuring vertically stacked, rectangular LED headlights—likely dual-chamber units—framed by an eye-catching new Q-shaped element just below the lamps. Sitting atop this arrangement is a slim, inverted L-shaped LED DRL strip, which could extend into a full-width light bar, giving the SUV a bold, futuristic appeal.

Around the back, the tail-lights appear to mirror the styling cues of the front, enhancing the SUV’s cohesive look. Subtle tweaks to the rear bumper design are also expected, rounding out the aesthetic upgrades.

Refined Side Profile with Sporty Elements

While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the side profile now looks more rugged and purposeful. Sharper outside rear-view mirrors, chunkier roof rails, and revised body cladding add to its visual heft. A flatter beltline enhances the Venue’s boxy charm, while newly designed alloy wheels inject a dose of sportiness into its stance.

Interior Tweaks Aimed at Comfort and Tech

Inside, the facelifted Venue is poised to deliver a more premium experience. Expect a redesigned dashboard, an updated center console, and new seat upholstery that aligns with Hyundai’s commitment to comfort. Ambient lighting may be added for a more dynamic cabin atmosphere, and front ventilated seats could be introduced to enhance convenience—especially welcome in India’s sweltering summers.

Many existing features are likely to carry over, including the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, over 60 connected car features through Bluelink, voice commands, and Alexa integration. On the safety front, Hyundai isn’t holding back: six airbags, electronic stability control, hill assist, and Level 1 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) will continue to be part of the package.

Proven Engines, Same Powertrain Options

Under the hood, there are no changes in sight—Hyundai will retain the current engine lineup. Buyers will still have the choice of a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. This strategy allows the brand to focus on design and feature enhancements while maintaining the Venue’s reliable performance credentials.

Positioned to Take on Tough Rivals

Once launched, the 2025 Hyundai Venue will face stiff competition in the ever-heated sub-4-meter SUV segment, going up against the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV3XO, Skoda Kushaq, and Toyota Taisor. Despite the crowded space, the Venue continues to hold its own, capturing a 7.6% market share last month and ranking 7th among its peers.

With a refreshed design, potential feature upgrades, and Hyundai’s strong brand backing, the new Venue is expected to continue its successful run. Pricing is likely to see a modest bump from the current ₹7.94 lakh to ₹13.53 lakh (ex-showroom), but Hyundai’s value proposition should keep the SUV appealing to a wide audience.
